Another Week Goes By
Hello, weekend!!!
How's your day going so far? It has been the most unproductive week for me ever, I've been telling myself to just rest in bed, just chill and relax but my brain won't let me, haha. I have a milestone that I set and action plans that I lay out myself...
I'm a planner, it helps me function better when I know what lies ahead. But it's also a constant uphill battle to remind myself to take a pause from time to time. Once you've become a mom, you will probably understand how limited time you have for yourself, for things that you want to achieve. Those mini-goals though seem super mini nor superficial to the majority of childless couples now seem like the unachievable tasks for me.
I just have to steal time, all moms do. A few seconds here, a few minutes there. Like right now, I have my older sleeping right next to me after our usual bedtime routine which consists of endless topics about the universe, life after death and etc while composing this post...
Finally... These precious minutes that I manage to claim! And I want to use it to talk about humdrum stuffs that I found around my house, haha...
First and foremost... A quick round of focus group question:
#1 Not sure if any of you notice this bracelet of mine... I've been wearing it for 5 or 6 years now, never take it off. I wear it during the shower, basically everywhere except for body massage, I adore it a lot, the evil eye is my lucky charm but sadly it has almost reached its maximum lifespan. I ordered something similar yesterday, a black bracelet but have a feeling that I might return it anyway, I just love this one so much, can't buy it again because it's no longer available :(
Do you have any suggestions? String bracelet, black bracelet, evil eye jewelry... Anything that crosses your mind now I'll take it :)
I'll share with you guys too once I've received my new bracelet although I feel a little heavyhearted to replace the current one.
#2 Apple Airpod Pro. Well, these are not mine, they are Chean's. If you watch one of my YouTube videos, I bought a counterfeit one, haha, because I wanted a pink "airpod" and oh boy, how I regret it now!!! Because it hurts my ear after wearing it for a long period of time. It's not worth the money, I should have just gone for the airpod pro. Now I am contemplating... Should I... Should I not...
#3 This one I recommended. I thought I graduated from wearing falsies after becoming a regular customer at the eyelash extension salon. Not during the pandemic. So I ordered these from Amazon.com for just $14. And I approved.
#4 Sigh. My nails are extremely hideous now, after all the cooking and cleaning! I can definitely use a little pick-me-up... Ordered these sally hansen but I only like the insta-dri top coat, not the color. When can I have beautiful nails again? I know, first world problem. But I miss seeing myself having neat nails without overgrown cuticles.
#5 Yup, hold your jaw! I even color my own hair, surprisingly it went pretty well! Thanks to Eva Longoria, I chose this one after watching her commercial, it was magical! And it works so well on me, highly recommend this color too if you want something more natural.
#6 I also bought this one, from Target, hoping to restore the shininess of my hair after damaging it with hair color. Haha... Restoring it with even more chemical, lol. I haven't tried it yet, but the reviews on Target rave that this product will make your hair looks shiny and healthy. We shall see, stay tuned on my insta story :p
#7 Oh my... My favorite body oilssssss. Buy them! I use it as an after-shower massaging oil now on a weekly or bi-weekly basis because they are E.X.P.E.N.S.I.V.E!!! I used to apply it every day while I was pregnant but I don't think I want to splurge on that anymore. So they are more like an indulgence to me now, a necessary indulgence, if that makes any sense :p
#8 Ermm... These supa dupa blue pillssss, not sure if I should spill the secret but my blog's motto is "Promise to Share" so be it lah...
Apparently, these are my secret weight control pill in M'sia. I take it whenever I overeat and got super bloated (when you only go home once a year and you only have one stomach), when I have to attend multiple events or functions in a row (it's rude if you're not eating when everyone is), or when I go on vacationsss (if you don't try out all the yummy local foods, why to bother travel at all?) Anyway, I am not promoting this, I'm just sharing it and I only take these a few times in a year, mostly in M'sia. Please consult the professionals (doctors & pharmacists) before thinking about buying it or trying it.
Thank you for reading. Hope you find joy around your home and see sparkles in tiny humdrum things around you! Have a magical weekend :)
p/s: The pills do not help me lose any weight in the long term, I'm still carrying the post-baby body until today. Healthy diets and daily exercises are the only and most effective way to lose weight. Stay healthy!
Love,
Bev
