One Dollar EduCor
Yoohoo~~ How is it going? I just got home from a 3-hour shopping haul alone, and you know what's even more pathetic? I'm not shopping for myself!!! Getting the house ready for the holiday decor & preparing myself for the utterly stressful Thanksgiving dinner, first attempt ever (wish me luck people, I need tons of those).
Anyway, I hope your weekend isn't as humdrum as mine, but if you're like me, willingly or forcefully dedicating your whole weekend to baby (or babies, or kids, or families), perhaps you'll find this One Dollar EduCor a fun weekend project! Ya, it sounds like a sneaky marketing gimmick and I purposely made it that way just to lure you into reading, wakaka... Okay, okay, at least I come clean, well, it basically means One Dollar Education Corner ;)
It's a super random & spontaneous idea that ignited few months ago while I was sorting BB's books... I found two packs of flashcards that I bought monthssssss before BB was born. Obviously BB is too young for that but I really wish I could make good use of them... So I decided to give one of the plain white walls a complete new look~~

The core idea behind this One Dollar EduCor is to motivate myself to be creative and look for creative ways to make home education fun! For whatever projects that I do, it needs to stay within a very strict budget, yup, One Dollar. The flashcards fit in this category perfectly because they are only $1 each, and the colorful carnival-like flags are made of recycled color papers & cloths. The whole process only took me about 20 mins. Oh, the Hello Kitty? I just added that this week, that costs me $1 but hey, holiday is approaching okay, it deserves the splurge :p
BB loves this One Dollar EduCor so much that she could spend 15 mins checking out each cards despite her very short attention span. The most unexpected part is that she will peel the cards off the wall (I'm using blu-tag, a removable adhesive), feel it, touch it, play with it and then toss it on the floor! To me, it's a very cost-effective and entertaining way to encourage fine motor skill development~~ That's why I'm so keen to share this with you all; this is going to be an on-going project for me :D
Okie dokie, feeding time for me again~~ Have fun creating a fun learning corner for your little one! See you next time!
P/s: Do share with us if you have more awesome ideas in creating an EduCor with zero or less money, I'm sure a lot of mamas out there will appreciate your generosity! Okay, at least I do ;)
Adios,
Mama Bev
