Babymoon in Cancun
I miss Cancun so much and it's not hard to imagine that if you follow through all my Cancun updates. Although I'm not quite a beach person, but jeez, I just thought I'd gone to heaven and now back to the ChillySnowyLand (=.=lll)
Here, before showing you the glorious Cancun beaches and views, I'd like to tackle some FAQs I received from you all.
Many have asked:
Q1. Who's going to take care of Miyaki when we're away from home?
A1. Cottonwood Kennels Pet Boarding. We've visited more than 5 pet hotels & pet boarding facilities and finally found the best one among all. So this is the place where we send him to whenever there's a need to travel.
#1 We dropped him off a day before due to early flight in the morning. Look at him, such a boss, hehe, he's very familiar with the place & the staff already.
#2 Even shook his tail faster than the helicopter blades @.@
#3 All his buddies lined up to welcome him, lol... (Ok, I make that up, they actually separate the big & small breeds)
Love this place a lot because each doggie get an individual play time besides the group play; also, the passionate staff work hard to accommodate each doggie's lifestyle & special request. Miyaki for example, we restricted him from excessive activities (no ball chasing, running, or playing excitedly) due to his back problem, and they did great to keep him company in the work office, so he won't feel left out.
Miyaki stayed there for two months while Chean & I were busying with the wedding in M'sia. During that time, Miyaki seemed to get separation anxiety at first and refused to eat, the staff emailed us & cooked him fish & chicken everyday, of course we paid for the grocery. But I was so impressed by their caring thought; we feel comfortable going away knowing Miyaki is being taken good care of.
#3 Another reason to love this place: it's a local ranch rather than a corporate/commercial pet hotel like Pet Smart. The owner rescued & adopted many animals, I think we can't go wrong with such kindhearted business owner right?
#4 Nicholas is the llama, and I met the little sheep for the first time. They also have a bigger sheep named Willy. Guess what, they know their names! No joke!
Q2: How much is the boarding fee?
A2: Approximately US$200 for 6 nights, with a 15% discount.
Heated-floor system, individual kennel with private yard, and so much more. My mum rolled her eyes & sarcastically said Miyaki's getting a 5 stars hotel treatment too every time we go travel, haha. We just love to spoil him.
H.O.O.R.A.Y! Bye Miyaki, enjoy your holidays too!
#5 Breakkie at Starbucks. Preggie mum can only opt for hot chocolate, sien.
#6 At Denver airport. Polka Fedora Hat from Forever 21, only US$ 8.90.
#7 Now we're ready to embark~~
#8 Survived the 4-hour flight, reached Cancun Airport safely and waiting for shuttle. My BB kicked me super hard upon landing, so scared. Thank goodness she managed to handle the air pressure. (Top from Ann Taylor, Maxi Skirt from Express)
#9 On the shuttle. Glad that we booked the shuttle service ahead of time, it's much more convenient than taking a cab. Plus, we didn't have to go through all the overly friendly & hard-sell cab drivers at the airport. It's scary to find ourselves surrounded by 10 cab drivers & sales persons at once!!!
#10 Checking in. How do you like your welcome drink, Chean? I want a champagne too, jealous max (T^T)
#11 Honestly, we really don't need an extra pair of hands with our 2 pieces of 21" baggage. Well, tipping is part of the culture, what to do (ya, I'm still very unwilling to tip for the unnecessary courtesy sometimes, call me stingy). But some awesome hardworking & thoughtful staff definitely deserve generous tipping, use your best judgement ;)
#12 A very simple ocean view room.
#13 And I tweeted this pic right away... A.R.G.H, the wifi sucks though!!!
#14 Apparently the front desk offered us the Junior Suite upgrade with just US$25 per night, but we didn't go for that, you know why?
#15 We already have the gorgeous view, why pay more for a nicer room with side ocean view instead? Since we won't be staying much in the room ;)
#16 It was late noon yet we hadn't yet eaten anything. H.U.N.G.R.Y~~
#17 Can't keep my eyes off of the ocean.
#18 Decided to pick K'ambu, the only Asian restaurant in the hotel for a quick late lunch.
#19 Yoooo... Chean ordered a local white beer.
#20 How nice if I could steal a sip @.@
#21 So unfair! You should be pregnant Chean!!!
#22 Ok lah, I'm still a happy soul even without alcohol. Cheers to Cancun, with sparkling water ❤❤
#23 Sashimi. Tasted so so but looked so good in the pic.
#24 Didn't taste like a California roll to me, but ya, it's a California roll.
#25 Fried ice-cream as dessert. We had fish tempura too, but was too hungry to take pic :p
#26 Lovely & peaceful~~
#27 For dinner, we refreshed ourselves with a quick shower and went for fine dining at Italian restaurant. Wakaka~~
#28
#29
#30 Only Chean knows how to capture my beauty on camera *shy*
#31
#32
#33 Yummy Caesar Salad~~
#34 Fried calamari.
#35 Chean's main course with a tricky name which I can't recall, he said it's super nice.
#36 I always have room for desserts, don't you?
#37 Promenading on the beach... Mmm... BB, can you feel the soothing breeze?
#38 Me posing for a so-called sophisticated shot, for BS readers.
#39 Then when the warm breeze brushed through my face, I went cuckoo and carefreely immersed in the lush atmosphere of the Caribbean. Chean, no need to take picture d, come relax & enjoy!!!
#40 Preggie mum gets tired very easily. That's how we spent the first 12 hours in Cancun. See you next!
More FAQs:
Q3: How did you book your Cancun trip?
A3: Via Bookit.com. We purchased the Fiesta Americana Condesa all-inclusive package in Nov, 2011. Yup, 24 hours unlimited drinks & meals.
Q4: How much have you spent?
A4: I'm not quite sure, it's my birthday present so I didn't ask. But I'm guessing it's cheaper that our previous Hawaii trip, about a total of US$3,000++ for two, including flight, accommodation, and Chichen Itza Tour. Chean is my appointed accountant of all time, I'll verify the figure with him later :p
Q5: Do you need a travel visa?
A5: Ermm, not for us since we are the PR. You might have to check with the embassy or travel agent.
Okie dokie, guess those are all the questions you raised, do some homework if you are interested in visiting Cancun, we read through tons of reviews and websites before picking the right hotel and booking the trip (yet, the hotel is still not like super duper awesome, but we did have loads of fun).
Enjoy your weekend peeps! Hope you have a relaxing one (*^___^*)
Stay tuned,
Bev
