Speaking of Breakfast...
Good morning people. Have you taken your breakkie yet? Not yet? This is gong to be a wordy posting, go grab yourself something to eat or drink first, I’ll wait for you.
So, how? Enjoying your hot coffee now? Nomming your peanut butter toast? How’s the scramble egg tastes like? Is your oatmeal smells healthy?
Anyway, do you know what are you eating? I mean, seriously. Do you know where your food comes from? What about the loaf of bread that you bought at your local grocery store yesterday? Any idea?
Me? I thought I made the smartest choice all these years until last month…
Whole Grain Hearty and Delicious Bread From Sara Lee.
I've been eating Sara Lee bread since 2007 (when I first resided to the U.S.) but I unintentionally discover the amazing "facts" of this so called healthy wheat bread 5 weeks ago...
It's expired!!! @.@
Well, of course, you can manipulate or play with the words printed on the packaging. You can also argue that "Best if purchased by August 28" doesn't imply any messages that you can't consume the loaf of bread after August 28...
However, you can't argue that a 100% natural bread with zero artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives will not last more than 5 weeks (and still counting).
The pictures below were taken 2 days ago, yup, the bread is still sitting on my kitchen counter top...
This is insane!!! The bread still looks as fresh and as soft as ever, it doesn't break down naturally, not even N.O.W! You can't even spot a single spore right? Neither can I.
One quick question: Have you watched Super Size Me before? Here are the excerpts from the documentary, that will conclude why the Sara Lee bread bother me so much.
So sorry, guess you need to make a short trip to Youtube. Here's the links:
Super Size Me Experiment 1st Part
Super Size Me Experiment 2nd Part
Trust me, you have to watch those clips and the documentary, it's worth your time. And I guarantee you, you will never look at your food the same way again. For me, I'll never look at Sara Lee bread the same way again.
Happy Breakfasting @.@
Ironically speaking,
Bev
