My Homecoming Diary - Hong Kong Trip Day 1 (10/1/09)
Don't ask me why this post taken so long. I don't know either.
Maybe laziness, maybe too many things happen at once when I got back to U.S. or maybe simply saving the best for last.
Gonna warn you 1st before you read further, You Might Not Able To Recognize Me!!!
I gained nearly 4kg when I was spending 3 months vacation in M'sia. Well, I personally don't mine about the weight gain at all (are you sure, Bev?). How can you say NO to mum's cooking and other deadly-tasty local foods. Whatever you name it, I ate it! I mean com' on, forget about your weight! Especially when you are in Hong Kong!!!
As soon as I reached HK, Chean and I decided we should... Take a nap (sorry guys!). We were so tired. Want to know the reason? Read THIS.
The first day wasn't as happening as it supposed to be. Plainly about friends gathering, sightseeing and food indulgences.
Hello people!!! Beverly was here at Avenue of Stars!!!
Chean was there too~~
Look at the night view! How beautiful~~
And our new friend, Sherry :)
Wong Chao Sang hand print.
I got Tony Leong Chui Wai!
Enough, let's eat...
You have to try this! 潭鱼头(tam yu tao) steamboat! Four thumbs up (including Chean's).
Girls pose.
Introducing San San (on the left), our close friend since high school, our tour guide and our host for this trip.
Ok, guys, don't cheated by her innocent look and cute pose. She is a very dedicated, hardworking, responsible, smart, talented and complete workaholic I would say. Most of all, she is a sweet friend too.
Miss those foods!
The kick ass soups ever. 四川 (Si Chuan) flavor on the left and tomato one on the right. Tomato soup is the must-have.
The secret dip that goes with all ingredients.
Ermmm... 面巾 (mian jin)? How to name this in Mandarin and English? Anyone? Apologize for my ignorant.
San San with 流沙包 (lao sa bao). Ohh, I can never forgot how nice it tastes. The filling rush out as soon as you bite into it.
Cheese ball~~ Look at those cheese!!! Irresistible. Well, my face looked as round as the ball too.
Dessert time...
Sweet Black Sesame Soup (黑芝麻 Tong Shui).
Sweet bean curd soup (白果腐竹 Tong Shui). I can't describe how smooth they taste. AHHhhh...
桂花糕 on the left. Again, I have no idea what the right desserts called. It tasted like coconut milk. Love them~~
Four of us spent about HK$ 600++ on this extremely yummlicious dinner. Thanks for the treat Chean! Worth it, he said. Actually, we went there for steamboat again on the last day.
None of the steamboats I've tried can beat this one so far!
Now you know where and what to eat in Hong Kong ;)
